English Lakes Hotels

We've been working with English Lakes Hotels for several years. We created lots of media interest for a story about an ultimate luxury picnic at Storrs Hall on the shores of Lake Windermere. The story was covered in a number of national newspapers as well as on three regional TV news programmes.

Colin Fox, the Marketing Manager for the hotel group, says: "Osprey Communications have proved to be creative and enthusiastic in all aspects of our PR. Unlike other companies they do not run out of ideas and lose that all important enthusiasm."

In recent years, we have secured many dozens of newspaper features about the group's hotels in regional papers across the UK, including the Manchester Evening News, the Express and Star and the Yorkshire Post. We've also got mentions for the group's hotels in the news and last minute columns of the national travel sections.

We worked with English Lakes Hotels to arrange a trip Around the Lakes in 80 Ways for Red Nose Day. The journey raised money for the charity and highlighted the different activities the company's corporate training and events division could provide. The story was featured on the BBC's North West Tonight programme on two consecutive days as well as being widely covered in the local media. We also made a short film about the trip to help promote the company to potential clients.

To help promote the Waterhead Hotel as a destination for romantic breaks we came up with the idea to place a diamond pendant in one of the rooms during a month of romance in February. The story got national coverage both in the national papers and online, as well as in Cumbria.

We also help to promote the group's restaurants. This has included coverage for a Cumbrian food festival at The Bay Restaurant in Ambleside, launched with a 21-course Ultimate Cumbrian Taster menu, which we suggested. There was a 230 film on the ITV regional news programme and four pieces on BBC Radio Cumbria.

We also created a blog for the chef in the run up to the festival including two video blog entries, which we also posted on YouTube and Blip.tv.
