Osprey Communications has shown a lot of creativity in developing stories. Iím very pleased with the level of support they give us and the amount of coverage we are now getting. Graeme Prest, Forestry Commission NW England

Forestry Commission

Forestry Comission

Our work with the Forestry Commission in the North West started in 2005 and in the West Midlands a few years thereafter. In our first year doing the work in the North West we increased the value of the media coverage by 15 times compared with the previous PR agency.

This included coverage for a story about giving a Christmas tree to an actress on Coronation Street whose character had mentioned Delamere Forest on the programme. Delamere in Cheshire is one of the Forestry Commission's largest Christmas tree sales centres. The coverage for the story included the Daily Star and the Manchester Evening News.

Forestry Comission

We have worked with the Forestry Commission on a number of launches including Whinlatter Forest in Cumbria becoming a flagship red squirrel reserve. The launch with the Commission's chairman Lord Clarke and local school children generated extensive media coverage in the county.

Forestry Comission

We've achieved national and regional coverage for the work that is being done to develop the sculpture trail at Grizedale Forest in Cumbria.

Forestry Comission

We also promoted the forests as places for people to visit and to take part in healthy activities. We've achieved coverage in the Daily Telegraph and The Observer for the new Altura Trail at Whinlatter Forest, as well coverage in mountain bike publications and websites and in the Cumbrian media.

Forestry Comission

Integral to our role was to inform the public about the Forestry Commission's work to improve the environment and increase biodiversity. Coverage has included the BBC's Countryfile programme, Radio 4, the BBC's Heaven and Earth Show, many items on regional TV news programmes and in local papers.
